Residential

What can you do to assist with the smooth execution of your pest control?

Clean and tidy up, remove shoes and stored articles from bottoms of wardrobes, expose as much skirting board area as possible by pulling furniture away from walls. Dust tops of cabinets, wardrobes etc. Remove any washing from your clothesline.

Put food away, also toothbrushes. Plates and cutlery should not be left out, if they are, please cover with tea towels.

Fish, hermit crabs and the likes need to be covered, aquarium pumps turned off if possible. Ponds with fish will be OK as we will avoid them, but their locality will not get treated to the same standard as the rest of the house if they are close by. As fish keepers ourselves, we are sure you will understand. We will need to avoid aviary birds also, so please talk to us about these and any other pets you may have.

Once dried, our chemicals won’t harm your dog or cat, but please invert or remove their food bowls. Some animals, cats in particular, may become unnerved by the compressed air hissing, so to avoid distress to your pets talk to us about working around them. We understand they are part of your family too and need to be considered.

Do we have to leave the house?

Its up to you, but for best results we carry out a pyrethroid fogging treatment which really augments the normal chemical spray, for this you need to vacate for a couple of hours at least. (We can work out an alternative plan for the house-bound). We are quite used to being left to get on with it and locking up behind ourselves or whatever arrangement suits you best.

When can I get the work done?

We are happy to carry out work Monday to Friday 7:00 to 4:30 but can be flexible and may be able to fit in a weekend appointment if all else fails to suit you. There may be an additional charge for this.

What about an emergency?

Few pest problems constitute an emergency in their own right, but we appreciate that some people have phobias of mice and spiders, and a sudden invasion of bees (we prefer you to attempt to get bees removed by a bee keeper if possible as they are beneficial insects and should be treated as a pest only as a last resort) or wasps can be most alarming and sometimes dangerous. We will take your call at any time and respond as quickly as possible. A small additional fee applies to out of hours call out.

How long will it take?

Obviously it depends on how big your property is. Pergolas and outbuildings take up time, specific problems such as cockroaches in the kitchen need special attention for example. On average, it takes about 2 hours for a 4 bedroom single storey house.

What do I need to tell you?

The more information you give us, the better we can treat your property for specific pests. For example, if you have carpet beetles (or suspect you may) we will need to allocate more time to the job. Maybe you have seen white tail spiders? We tailor our treatment slightly in this event. Talk to us! We like to listen.

How do I pay?

Cash, cheque or credit card.
